What this law does
Article 23 requires banking and financial institutions and the undertakings that provide banking and financial services to adapt their procedures and documents for the consumer banking services of Article 4(28) so that they fully meet the accessibility requirements of Sections III and IV of Annex I and the functional performance criteria of Section VIII of that Annex. Annex I of Directive (EU) 2019/882 sets the functional performance criteria in its Section VII.
Article 24 bars an unfavourable discriminatory pricing policy, and any selective financial burden of any kind, against consumers whose access improves or is maximised because the undertakings and the banking and financial institutions comply with the Act. Article 4(28) lists as consumer banking services credit agreements, investment services, payment services, services linked to payment accounts and electronic money, each by reference to the Greek law that governs it.
